Portraying one of Game of Thrones' most legendary characters didn't come easily for Milly Alcock. The Australian actress, who brought young Rhaenyra Targaryen to life in HBO's House of the Dragon prequel, recently shared how she received unexpected acting criticism early in production.
"On my second day filming House of the Dragon, someone quite senior pulled me aside and said, 'We're arranging an acting coach for you,'" Alcock revealed during her Tonight Show appearance, admitting she felt utterly embarrassed by the remark.
The Critics Choice-nominated star humorously reflected on how the moment grounded her. "It confirmed my deepest fear—that I'm terrible at acting!" she joked. "I thought, 'I’ve made a huge mistake coming here!'"
Before her upcoming roles as Supergirl in DC's Superman (2025) and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026), Alcock starred as young Princess Rhaenyra—King Viserys I Targaryen's rebellious heir—throughout House of the Dragon's first season and made a guest appearance in Season 2. Emma D'Arcy portrays the adult version of the eventual queen.
The hit spinoff debuted in August 2022, continuing Game of Thrones' legacy after its 2019 conclusion. HBO swiftly renewed House of the Dragon for Season 2 within days of premiere, and surprisingly greenlit Season 3 in June 2024—before Season 2 even aired. The series earned acclaim, including a Golden Globe for Best Drama Series.
While Season 3 remains confirmed, HBO hasn't announced an official release date yet.
