With a name like Monster Hunter Now, it’s no surprise that a new creature arriving in Niantic's hit AR game is a major occasion. This time, hunters will face the electrically charged Fulgur Anjanath. This fearsome monster and its relatives are now crossing into our world through the latest Jaws of Flame and Thunder event.

The Jaws of Flame and Thunder event runs from August 18 to August 24, marking the first appearance of Fulgur Anjanath. Keep a sharp lookout, as only Fulgur Anjanath and Anjanath will spawn during designated hours of this event.

Hunters who purchase the optional Special Hunt Ticket will receive additional in-game bonuses. And true to Monster Hunter tradition, you can use parts from these massive beasts to forge brand-new armor and powerful weapons.

Prepare for the Hunt

Fulgur Anjanath is a subspecies of Anjanath, weak to Water attacks. It possesses the ability to store electrical energy within the membranes of its mouth and back. But most hunters are likely more interested in the powerful gear it can provide.

As expected, you can craft an entire lineup of new Thunder element weapons, from Sword & Shield to Heavy Bowgun. The Fulgur armor set, meanwhile, boosts your thunder attack power based on how much health you have remaining.
