Pokémon GO: Morpeko Arrives, Dynamax/Gigantamax Teased!
Get ready for significant updates to Pokémon GO! Developer Niantic has hinted at the arrival of Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics, initially featured in Pokémon Sword and Shield. This exciting news follows the confirmation of Morpeko's addition to the game.
Galar Region Focus for the New Season?
Niantic's announcement confirms Morpeko, a Pokémon known for its form-changing abilities, is joining the roster. This, coupled with Niantic's statement about "big changes, big battles, and…big Pokémon" in the upcoming season, has fueled speculation about the introduction of Dynamax and Gigantamax. These mechanics, unique to the Galar region, allow Pokémon to drastically increase in size and power.
"Morpeko will charge into Pokémon GO, changing the way you battle! Certain Pokémon will change form during battle using a Charged Attack," Niantic revealed. The "big" changes are expected to roll out in September. Fans anticipate the arrival of other Galar Pokémon like Mimikyu and Aegislash alongside these new mechanics.
While details remain scarce, the implementation of Dynamax and Gigantamax in Pokémon GO remains unconfirmed. The current Shared Skies season ends September 3rd, leading many to believe the next season will center around Galar Pokémon, further fueling the anticipation.
