Will Wright, creator of The Sims, recently unveiled more details about his new AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, during a Twitch livestream. This innovative game, initially announced in 2018, centers around the player's personal memories. Let's delve into what makes Proxi unique.
A Deeply Personal Gaming Experience
Developed by Gallium Studio, Proxi transforms real-life memories into interactive animated scenes. Players input memories as text, and the game's AI engine renders them visually. These memories, referred to as "mems," are then placed within the player's "mind world," a 3D hexagonal environment ripe for exploration.
The mind world evolves as more mems are added, populating with AI representations of friends and family ("Proxies"). Players can arrange memories chronologically, linking them to specific Proxies to recreate the context and relationships within those memories. Remarkably, these Proxies can even be exported to other game worlds, such as Minecraft and Roblox!
Wright emphasized Proxi's focus on creating a deeply personal experience, stating that the game's design is built around the player's own life. He jokingly commented on the inherent human fascination with oneself, highlighting the game's unique appeal.
Proxi is now featured on Gallium Studio's website, with platform announcements expected soon.
