'Spider-Man 4' Faces Rescheduling to Avoid Clash With 'The Odyssey'

by Thomas Feb 22,2025

The upcoming Tom Holland Spider-Man film has been pushed back a week, likely to avoid clashing with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

Sony's revised release schedule shows the fourth Spider-Man movie now slated for July 31st, 2026, instead of the previously announced July 24th. This two-week gap between The Odyssey and Spider-Man 4 offers both films better access to IMAX screens, a preference known to be held by Christopher Nolan. The scheduling change benefits both films, especially considering Tom Holland's involvement in both projects.

Marvel's announcement confirmed a fourth Spider-Man movie starring Holland, following Avengers: Doomsday (May 1st, 2026). Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) will direct, taking over from his previous commitment to the next Avengers film after storyline adjustments related to the Kang character. The Russo Brothers have returned to helm Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. surprisingly cast as Doctor Doom.
