Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts a diverse arsenal, allowing players to tailor their loadout to their preferred combat style. Beyond standard firearms, unique weapon variants with enhanced stats and modifications exist, including the Cavalier sniper rifle. This distinctive weapon features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it exceptionally effective at close to medium ranges. Here's how to acquire this powerful tool.
Acquiring the Cavalier Sniper Rifle
The Cavalier Sniper Rifle is located within the Duga base, near the Military Unit. Specifically, it's hidden in a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously retrieved the Journalist's stash in this area, accessing the base through the secondary entrance should be straightforward.
Accessing the Warehouse
Upon entering the Duga base, proceed towards the Military Unit building (as indicated on your map). Circumvent the building itself to reach the greenhouse at its rear. Beware of two Pseudogiants patrolling this area; they'll attack on sight. Approach the greenhouse cautiously to avoid unnecessary conflict.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll enter the warehouse. Be prepared for multiple rat swarms upon entry; these will inflict damage if not dealt with swiftly. Utilize the elevated green platforms at the rear of the warehouse for cover. Consider using a grenade to eliminate the rat infestation efficiently.
Retrieving the Cavalier
After clearing the rats, examine the warehouse ceiling above the greenhouse entrance. You'll notice yellow-painted wooden boards. Shoot these boards with your weapon; the Cavalier sniper rifle will fall from above.
After securing the Cavalier, safely exit the Duga base. You can then have the Cavalier upgraded by Screw, the technician at Rostok base. Its high damage and accuracy, further enhanced through upgrades and modifications, make it a formidable weapon. The Cavalier's red-dot sight is particularly appealing for players who prefer a scope-less sniper rifle experience, enabling effective combat at close to medium ranges.
