"Warriors: Abyss Launches Today as a Roguelite Twist on the Franchise"

by Leo Apr 11,2025

Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another exciting title today that reinvents the musou genre. Introducing Warriors: Abyss, a thrilling new roguelite that brings together the iconic characters from the Warriors series for an epic adventure. Revealed during today's PlayStation State of Play, this game allows you to assemble a squad and battle through endless waves of enemies with an isometric camera view, drawing inspiration from both Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.

In Warriors: Abyss, you'll lead your team through the depths of "hell," facing off against demonic foes. The game features beloved characters from the Warriors universe, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, as seen in today's footage. According to the PlayStation Blog, you can recruit and add these characters to your team over time, enhancing your ability to summon additional support in battle. Players can deploy up to seven active heroes at once, with a launch roster of 100 warriors available today.

Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the character lineup post-launch, starting with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer has hinted at even more exciting waves of characters, including potential additions from outside the Warriors series, to keep the game fresh and engaging.

Warriors: Abyss is available today on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Nintendo Switch players can look forward to the game on February 13, 2025. For those interested in exclusive in-game content, be sure to grab the Dynasty Warriors Costume Set before the deadline on March 14, 2025.
