An unannounced paid DLC for Hogwarts Legacy has been called off, per a Bloomberg report.
According to sources cited by Bloomberg, Warner Bros. intended to release a paid story expansion for its Harry Potter adventure title, Hogwarts Legacy, scheduled for this year alongside the game's "Definitive Edition."
However, WB scrapped the DLC earlier this week, reportedly because "the amount of content was not substantial enough to justify the price being considered," according to Bloomberg. The studio declined to comment for the report.Warner Bros. has been actively reshaping its gaming division amid ongoing financial challenges. Earlier this year, it canceled its planned Wonder Woman title and shut down Monolith Productions, along with WB San Diego and MultiVersus developer Player First Games. Additionally, WB reduced staff at Rocksteady last September.
Despite the cancellation, Warner Bros. continues to emphasize that Hogwarts Legacy and the broader Harry Potter franchise remain among its most valuable assets. The company has noted that a sequel is "one of the biggest priorities" as it concentrates on fewer, larger franchises. The original game has surpassed 30 million copies sold worldwide.
