BASE is an innovative app that leverages the universal appeal of football to enhance learning in schools, transforming traditional classroom dynamics into an engaging educational experience. Designed as a partner tool for teachers, BASE aims to make learning fun by allowing children to absorb the same educational content through gameplay. The app introduces a unique approach where learning is seamlessly integrated with play, making education both enjoyable and effective.
The structure of the app is thoughtfully organized into three seasons, mirroring the excitement of sports tournaments. Each season is further divided into four competitive levels: Regional, National, Continental, and World, along with a Pre-Season. These tournaments vary in the number and difficulty of questions, which are termed as 'matches' within the app. BASE's gamified format not only includes educational content but also incorporates elements like coins, points, and trophies to sustain and heighten children's interest and engagement.
The educational content within BASE has been meticulously developed by the team at the Vini.Jr Institute, in collaboration with the faculty of the Paulo Reglus Neves Freire Municipal School. Initially, the focus of BASE's educational technology is on the early years of Elementary School, specifically targeting students from 1st to 5th grade, aged 6 to 10. By using the popular sport of football as a hook and leveraging technology to facilitate learning, BASE ensures that the content aligns with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) standards, making it a valuable resource for educators and students alike.
