Brok's Festive Investigation Now Live

by Ethan Feb 11,2025

Brok the InvestiGator, the action-adventure game starring a certain reptilian detective, is getting a festive spin-off: a free, hour-long visual novel! This prequel to the main game, titled Brok Natal Tail Christmas, offers a heartwarming Christmas story, albeit a slightly twisted one.

The narrative follows Graff and Ott as they navigate a corrupted Christmas celebration, Natal Untail, in their world of Atlasia. Despite the unusual circumstances, they manage to find genuine Christmas cheer with a little help from Brok.

Don't expect beat 'em up action here; this is a departure from the original game's mechanics. It's a concise experience, designed as a quick holiday treat for Brok fans, and also showcases Cowcat's new Brokvn Engine.

Considering it's free and a genre shift, criticizing its short length seems unfair. Cowcat's willingness to experiment is commendable. There's little risk involved; unless you actively dislike visual novels, there's no reason not to give this unique Christmas adventure a try.

If this piques your interest in point-and-click adventures or visual novels, explore the chilling Darkside Detective (check out our review!), or unwind with the best mobile games of 2024.
