A Kindling Forest: A Solo Developer's Side-Scrolling Auto-Runner

Dennis Berndtsson, a high school teacher and solo game developer, presents his latest creation: A Kindling Forest. This action-adventure game, more accurately described as a side-scrolling auto-runner, is packed with innovative mechanics. Expect forests, arrows, and a generous helping of lava!

The Story: A Demon, an Archer, and a Constant Chase

An ancient demon unleashes chaos upon the world, prompting forest spirits to awaken a long-dormant archer. Armed with a bow, he's tasked with vanquishing the demon. However, A Kindling Forest isn't your typical straightforward adventure.

Gameplay: Precision and Timing are Key

The screen continuously scrolls, presenting a relentless barrage of sharp, unpredictable obstacles. Players must skillfully dodge or shoot these hazards using their arrows – their only lifeline. Running out of arrows means game over, emphasizing the importance of strategic shot placement.

Five Levels of Increasing Intensity

A Kindling Forest features five increasingly challenging levels. Players will navigate treacherous landscapes, leaping over spiders, teleporting through ruins, soaring above clouds, and even dodging lava flows. Strategically placed checkpoints provide opportunities to restart and refine tactics after setbacks.

Dual-Screen Controls and Slow-Motion Aiming

The game utilizes a split-screen control scheme: one half for jumping, the other for shooting. Precise timing is crucial. A slow-motion effect during aiming allows for careful shot placement.
