Indus App Reaches Milestone with 5 Million Downloads

by Bella Jan 01,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has surpassed five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within just two months of its release. This follows its success at the Google Play Awards, where it was recognized as the Best Made in India Game of 2024, and a successful international playtest in Manila.

This significant achievement positions Indus as a leading contender in the Indian gaming market, challenging competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback and exposure, allowing international esports players to experience the game firsthand.

SuperGaming, the developer behind Indus, is aggressively pursuing esports dominance with the launch of the Clutch India Movement. This initiative centers around the Indus International Tournament, a competition running from October 2024 to February 2025, boasting a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000 USD) prize pool.

Impressive Growth, Further Potential:

While the five million downloads are impressive, they fall slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations. However, pre-registration numbers often don't fully translate to actual downloads. The relatively low iOS download count also suggests a need for further market penetration in that segment.

Despite this, SuperGaming's proactive approach, including international playtests and an esports tournament, demonstrates ambitious plans for Indus's future growth and development.
