"Blades of Fire: New Details Revealed"

The developers at MercurySteam, alumni of Rebel Act Studios, have deep roots in the gaming industry, particularly known for their work on the cult classic Severance: Blade of Darkness. Released in 2001, this game was renowned for its groundbreaking combat system that allowed players to dismember enemies, adding a layer of brutality and realism to the gameplay. Severance became a significant source of inspiration for MercurySteam's new project, Blades of Fire.

While drawing heavily from their past, the developers at MercurySteam were also influenced by contemporary action-adventure games. They took inspiration from the cinematic combat and intricately detailed world of the God of War reboot by Santa Monica Studio. The aim was to fuse fast-paced action with RPG elements, crafting an engaging and immersive experience for players.

A standout feature of Blades of Fire is its innovative weapon crafting system. Players will have the opportunity to forge their own blades, customizing aspects such as length, weight, durability, and balance. This system empowers players to create weapons that perfectly match their preferred combat style, adding a personal touch to the gameplay.

The narrative of Blades of Fire centers on the warrior Aran de Lira, who embarks on a quest against a cunning queen with the power to transform metal into stone. Throughout his journey, Aran will encounter 50 distinct types of enemies, each demanding a strategic and unique combat approach.

Blades of Fire is set to launch on May 22, 2025, and will be available on PC (via the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series, and PS5. This highly anticipated title promises to blend MercurySteam's rich heritage with modern gaming innovations, offering players a thrilling and customizable adventure.
